William "Billy" Roy Plaster

Niota, TN

WILLIAM ROY "BILL" PLASTER , age 78 of Niota, Tenn. passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, in Sweetwater Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, a son of the late Arlie and Nannie Louise Wyatt Plaster and preceded in death by Sisters: Marie Plaster, Diane Casteel and Daughter: Misty Plaster Deans. He was a loving dad, brother, and friend however his most prized title was Papaw. Billy enjoyed farm life and The Tennessee Volunteers. He loved cheering on the Big Orange. In his younger years, he enjoyed watching Mark play Cherokee Football and Misty show racking horses. He was also known for his loyalty to Crazy Ed's Truck Stop in Niota where he was manager for many decades. He was a hard worker and owned 2 locations of Crazy Bill's Fireworks and Gas Station as well as The Wagon Wheel Restaurant. He was  a member of 1st Baptist Church of Niota, 
Survivors include his son and daughter in law Mark and Tiffany Plaster,  Son-in-law: Josh Deans, his brother and sister in law  Jackie and Towanna Plaster, brother in law Allen Casteel, grandsons Dylan (Cara) Plaster, Cole (Maddie) Plaster, and Camden Deans, and granddaughters Madison Deans, Emily Plaster, and Brooklyn Deans, and three great granddaughters Clara Belle and Callie Plaster, Oakleigh Davis, and one precious baby girl Plaster on the way. He leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews as well.
Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral with Rev. Doug Alexander and Rev. Cullen Conner officiating. Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in Union-McMinn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be  Dylan Plaster, Cole Plaster, Camden Deans, Mike Coleman, Greg Mull, Jeff Howell, and Billy Tindell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Falls and Jack Stiner. The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home.
