Ronald Jack Clayton

RONALD JACK CLAYTON, age 78 of Athens TN. passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at his daughters residensce. A current resisdent of McMinn county, he is the son of the late Jack Clayton and Loretta Anderson McConkey.

He is preceded in death by Son, Ronald Jack Clayton Jr.; 2 Brothers, Johnny Clayton and Larry Clayton.

He was a loving husband and father to 2 children and also a loving grandfather to 3 granchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to collect stamps and coins and he and his wife loved to travel within the states. He also loved the mountains of East Tennessee.

Survivors:

Wife of 58 years, Sheila Aprea Clayton; Daughter and son-in-law, Tanya (Ferlin) Gossett; Grand-Daughter and spouse, Brittany (Taylor) Slack; 2 Grandsons and spouse, Vince Gossett, Mitchel (Madison) Gossett. 6 Great-grandchildren;

Brothers, Jerry Clayton, Jimmy Clayton and Kevin Clayton; Sisters Twila Clayton, Kathy Lynn, and Lori Wallis.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
