MARTHA JEAN THOMPSON JACKSON,  age 83 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023 in Athens, Tenn. She was native of Cleveland, Tenn. lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn. a daughter of the late Ralph E. Thompson  and Gussie Marie Breedlove  and preceded in death by her husband: Raymond Jackson, and  Brother:   Donald Ray Thompson, Sisters-in-law: Louise Jackson (John T.)  Hutsell,, Marie (Bruce) Coffey, Margaret Simpson, . She was a member of Clearwater Baptist Church. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star #159 and served as Worthy Matron was a  representative for  Eastern Star for  the State of Penn . She retired from Athens Products after 32 years of service and  had worked for Ridge Textile.
Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law: Connie and Emmett Warner of Athens, Tenn. Granddaughter: Paige Warner Miller and Fiance  Shiloh Sims, Christopher D. Miller  father  of Great Grandchildren:  Gemma Miller, Raeleigh Miller and Clara Miller, and  Kinlee Sims and Landon Sims  Sisters-in-law: Essie (Don) Wade of Niota, Tenn., Polly (Charles) Kincaid of Athens, Tenn., and Brother-in-law: Chester Simpson of Athens, Tenn.,  several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 14, 2023 in McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Greg Hutsell officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
