Bettye Ruth Paisley

BETTYE RUTH KNOX PAISLEY, age 81 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023.. She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn. a daughter of the late Bill Thomas and Dora Frisbee  and preceded in death by First Husband: Bobby D. Knox,  Step-son: Michael Paisley, Three Brothers: Jimmy Thomas, Billy Thomas, and Johnny Thomas, Four Sisters: Edna Sewell, Ella Black, Jean Wade, and Margaret Gable. She worked  at City Park Elementary and Tri-County Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens, Tenn. She was a former member of Athens Civitan Club.
Survivors: Husband: Bill Paisley of Athens, Tenn., Three Daughters and sons-in-law: Tracey (Dennis) Hicks of Athens, Tenn., Susan Saliba of Chattanooga, Tn., Allison (Wes) Peters of Knoxville, Tenn., Karen  (Burton) Webb of Knoxville, Tenn., Sister and Brother-in-law: Glenda (Fred) Coleman of Athens, Tenn., Brother and sister-in-law: Bobby (Sue) Goodman of Athens, Tenn., Grandchildren: Tripp (Alyssa) Hicks, Heath Hicks, Gabby  (fiancé Ben Wyrick), Matthew Saliba, Ethan Peters, Hannah Peters, Will Stone, Brig (Mindy)Stone.  Great Grandchildren: Parker and Addy,  Sister-in-law: Pamela (Larry) Maddux. several nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Henard officiating. Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Tripp Hicks, Heath Hicks, Matthew Saliba, Ethan Peters, Dennis W. Hicks,  Wes Peters, and Ben Wyrick. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
