Arlene Linda Buchanan

Arlene Linda Buchanan, born on June 14, 1963, unexpectedly passed away on November 7, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Arlene was the youngest daughter of the late James and Mary Buchanan Sr. of Athens, Tennessee.

She is preceded in death by her twin sister, Darlene Brewster; Older siblings, Patricia Alexander, Dorothy Buchanan, James “Butch” Buchanan Jr., James K. “Jim” Buchanan, Robert “Sugar Daddy” Long, and George Buchanan.

She leaves behind two children, her son Skylar Buchanan (Kelly), and daughter Aishya; Grandchildren, Samira Buchanan, Saniya Buchanan, and Joshua Buchanan; Sisters, Olivia “Koko” Noland, Mary “Sue” Buchanan, Cecil Hurst (Dewey); brother, Luther Buchanan; two Goddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial and Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home- Athens, TN.
