William Frank Roberts

William Frank Roberts, age 82 of Athens passed away, Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at NHC Healthcare of Athens.
A native and life-long resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Luke and Dorothy Kelsey Roberts, and was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Carver Roberts on June 3, 2017; and a brother, Glen Allen Roberts.
A member of West View Baptist Church, he was a former employee of Carden-Monroe Machine Shop in Chattanooga.  He was and Veteran of the U.S. National Guard, having served for 8 years and was a member of East Lake Masonic Lodge #698.
Survivors:
1 step-son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Marlene Rue of Athens;
2 daughters, Sharon Mathely of Chattanooga, and Pam Roberts of Jasper, TN;
1 brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Barbara Roberts of Riceville;
1 sister and brother-in-law, Ailene and Harold Mooneyham of Gadsden, Alabama;
3 grandchildren and spouses, Ashley and Chris Donaldson,  McKeehanon and Moriah Rue, Elizabeth Deakin.
Great granddaughter, Emily Donaldson.
Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8:00 PM Friday, February 7, 2020 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Whited officiating.
Graveside Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 8, 2020 at McMinn Memory Gardens.  Active pallbearers will be McKeehanon Rue, Chris Donaldson, Doug Mooneyham, Greg Turner, Jay Million and Brandon Million.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.  Those unable to attend must send condolences to www.laycock-hobbs.com/notices/William-Roberts.  Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens is in charge of the arrangements.
