Patricia Ann "Patsy" Boggess Cox Rogers, passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 at McMinn Memorial Nursing Home. 
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast."
Patricia was born March 17, 1931 in Athens. She was christened May 13, 1931 at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Athens. In 1983, she received the "Athens Mother of the Year Award," an honor she treasured immensely. 
She was preceded in death by her late husband Elbert M. Rogers; parents, Charles Franklin "Dutch" and Elizabeth Reed Boggess; a sister, Gwendolyn Boggess Chance, and brother-in-law Joseph Herbert Chance; a brother Charles Robert Boggess and sister-in-law, Rita Joudry Boggess of Athens; her first husband and father of two sons, Buell Cleveland Cox, Jr.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Charles Boggess Cox of Athens and Cary Lotspeich Cox and wife Sally of Tennessee. Four granddaughters, Allison Elizabeth Cox  Vasquez and husband Steve Padgett Vasquez. Jessica Caroline Cox and her husband, Oliver Davis-Urman, Grace Elizabeth Harris Cox, and Mary Frances Holland Cox and one great-granddaughter, Valkyrie Grace Vasquez; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Cynthia Chance Southmayd of Athens. The family will inter her ashes at St. Paul's Episcopal Cemetery in a private ceremony.
A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date by the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The food pantry at St. Paul's Epicopal Church.
