James Laurence Wicker

JAMES LAURENCE WICKER,  age 82 of Niota, Tenn. passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., a son of the late George Washington and Laura Bennett Jones Wicker, and preceded in death by Brothers: Johnny Wicker, Thomas Mack Wicker, Two Sisters: Grace McClendon and Mary Renne. He was involved with Yamaha Shop in Athens, former employee Athens Lawn and Garden and was a farmer. He was a member of Union-McMinn Baptist Church and was a former Mason. 
Survivors: Wife of 46 years: Joan Karen Goebel Wicker of Niota, Tenn.  Sister:  Hazel Black of Yucaipa, Calif. many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 
A family graveside service will be held. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to:  St. Jude Children Hospital, Operation Christmas Child/Samatarian Purse, Union-McMinn Baptist Church, or their favorite charity.
