Reverend Gordon Roderick, Soddy Daisy, TN, passed from this life on August 19, 2019 surrounded by his family at Memorial Hospital in Hixson, TN.  Born in Athens, TN, January 26, 1944, Mr. Roderick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gail (Morrison) Roderick, Sons Terry Roderick, (Pam,) Hixson, TN, Chris Roderick (Kristen,) Glasgow, KY, Grandson SPC Ross Roderick, Ft. Campbell, KY, Great Granddaughter Emmalin Roderick, and Great Grandson, Waylon Saltsman, both of Glasgow, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Nora Roderick and brothers Franklin and Charles Roderick, Athens, TN. 
Mr. Roderick was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Soddy Daisy, TN, and former member of Hixson First Baptist Church in Hixson, TN. Upon retirement from Norfolk Southern Railway he became a short-term missionary to the Ukraine, where he founded Faith, Hope & Love Ministries in partnership with his friend and brother-in-Christ Alexander (Sasha) Kupenko, Voronkiv, Ukraine. 
A graveside service is to be held for the family and close friends at 3pm Wednesday, August 21 at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Athens, TN.  Alternate expressions of sympathy can be made payable to Ukraine Challenge and may be mailed 1709 Rivergate Terrace, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379.
