Zelma Lee Knox

ZELMA LEE PARDUE KNOX, age 88 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, in Dominion Senior Living of Athens, Tenn.  She was a native of Monroe County, Tenn., resident most of her life of McMinn County, Tenn. a daughter of the late Robert Lilliston and Emma Vernice Barnett Pardue.  She was a member of North Athens Baptist Church. She loved her family,  bowling, sewing, gardening and traveling.

Preceded in death by:

  • Her husband, William Lee "Bill" Knox
  • Son, James Donald "Don" Knox,
  • Grandsons, Jeffery Knox and Paul Bryant "Bear" Price
  • Sister, Bobbie Baker.

Survivors:

  • Daughter and Son-in-law: Peggy and Butch Price of Athens, Tenn., 
  • Four Sons and daughters-in-law: Mike Knox of Cleveland, Tenn., Jerry and Kelly Knox of Armagh, Penn. , Warner and Teresa Knox of  Rockingham, North Carolina, Joe and Jeannine Knox of Athens, Tenn.,
  • Brother: James Reed Pardue of Crossville, Tenn. 
  • Four Sisters: Mary Jones of Maryville, Tenn. Henrietta "Dot" Galyon of Kingston, Tenn.,  Carolina Asby of Evansville, Ind. and Edna Ruth Gatlin of Evansville, Ind.,
  • 10 Grandchildren,
  • 15 Great Grandchildren,
  • Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Tuesday, September 11, 2018  in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Robertson officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Knox, Billy Knox, James Knox, Scott Knox, Daniel Cates, and Mark Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 12:00 Noon Tuesday in the funeral home.
