William Lynn Dilbeck

William "Bill" Dilbeck, age 87 of Athens, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Etowah Health and Rehabilitation. A native McMinn County he was the son of the late Lane Lyde and Ella Mae Knox Dilbeck. Bill was an active member of East Niota Baptist Church, and loved golf, salt and fresh water fishing, as well as working at his various jobs. Bill worked as plant manager for Key Color Lab in New Orleans Louisiana. He was very talanted and earned many awards for photo finishing. He was preceded in death by three brothers Danny Dilbeck, Delaine Dilbeck and Gary Dilbeck.

He was survived by his wife 67 years Linda Dilbeck of Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Dilbeck and William Owens; brothers, David and Trendal Dilbeck of Cleveland. Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Sunday, September 27, 2026 with the funeral to follow in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral. The Rev.Nick Brown will be officiating. The graveside service will be 11 am Monday September 28, 2026 at McMinn Memory Gardens. Rev. Nick Brown will bw officiating.The pallbearers will be William Owens, David Dilbeck, Trendal Dilbeck, Pete Dibeck, Corey Dilbeck, and Dalton Case.
