Vonetia "Tooter" Faye Ritchie

Vonetia "Tooter" Faye Ritchie, age 89 of Niota passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Sweetwater Nursing Home. A native of Niota and a resident of Florida from 1974-2008, she was the daughter of the late James Walter and Hattie Cordelia McNutt Boyd. She was a member of First Baptist of Merritt Island, Florida where she was very active with the senior adults and the vocal choir and the hand bell choir. She was preceded in death by her husband Jackie Coogan Ritchie (May 1995), brothers and sister; James Jr., Olen, Dewey, Lorene, Elnora, Francine.
Survivors include

  • One son and daughter-in-law; Jack and Susan Ritchie of Riceville
  • Grandchildren; Carly Walters; Marshall and Ashley Gilreath and Madisen Gilreath.
  • Great grandchidren; Lily and Raelyn
  • Special relatives Charlie Boyd, Judy Swafford, Carol Landis, Carl Richesin.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 in chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.

The interment will be at McMinn Memory Gardens following the funeral service.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Friday, Nov 1, 2019 in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to McMinn County Humane Society.
