Velma Louzelle Curtis

VELMA LOUZELLE MELTON CURTIS, age 96 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Friday, December 28, 2018, in NHC of Athens, Tenn. She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., was a daughter of the late Charles William Wright and  Rebecca Jane Womac Melton and preceded in death by her Husband: Walter Paige "W.P" . Curtis, ,  Grandchildren: Ricky Allen Curtis and Tami Hughes, Three Sisters, Two Brothers . Former employee of Athens Stove Works and Goody's and was the oldest member  of Fairview Baptist Church. 
Survivors:  Son and Daughter-in-law: Gary and Joy Curtis of Riceville, Tenn.,   Three Daughters and Sons-in-law: Janice and Bill Hughes of Niota, Tenn., Jane and Jimmy Shepherd of Athens, Tenn., Connie and Kelly "Kid" Shepherd of Athens, Tenn.  Fifteen Grandchildren,  several great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew  Herrell officiating.  Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Great Grandchildren. The family will recieve friends from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home.
