Troy Danny Baker

DANNY BAKER, age 84, of Athens TN., passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Starr Regional Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he is the son of the late Arlie and Fairy Dell Boyd Baker.

He is preceded in death by wife, Nancy Baker; one Son, Chris Baker, four Brothers, Edsel Baker, James Arlin Baker, Cecil Baker, and Clay Baker; three Sisters, Judith Baker, Uldine Baker, and Charlotte Baker.

He was a member of the Baptist Temple of Athens TN. He worked for Fox Photo, McMinn County Justice Center as a Jail Administrator, and later retired from J&B Bonding. He was also involved with FOP. He enjoyed trading, spending time with family, and catching up with old friends.

Survivors:

Son and spouse, Jeff (Paula) Baker; five Grandchildren, Kelsey (Luis) Munoz; Tristin (Renee) Baker, Tanner (Brook) Roberts, Garrett (Jessica) Baker, Emily (Dylan) Baker; five Great Grandchildren, Amelia Munoz, Reese and Tommy Roberts, Estelle and Fiona Baker; one Brother, Jackie (Brenda) Baker; one Sister, Dawn (Jim) Litz.

Special cousin and friend, Stevie Yarbrough;

Several nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the healthcare providers of NHC of Athens.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 27, 2026 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Jerry Stephens officiating.

The graveside service will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens.

The visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service.
