Steven Ward Brown

STEVEN WARD BROWN, age 72, of Athens TN. passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 at his residence. Born in Nashville but a current resident of McMinn County, he is the son of the late Ward Newton and Virginia Jones Brown. He is preceded in death by wife of 30 years, Debra June Brown.

Steven was a wonderful father and loved all his family. He was an avid collector of guns and knives and he was a lifelong truckdriver.

Survivors:

2 sons, Thomas Brown, Anthony (Jacie) Brown; 1 Daughter, Jackie (Mitch) Ward; 5 Step-Children, William Peyton, Shannon Corneilison, Randall Stem, Melissa Ashford, and Robert Stem; Many Grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, May 11, 2026 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.

The visitation will be from 12-1PM prior to the funeral service.

The graveside service will follow at Pond Hill Cemetery in Niota TN.
