STERLING NEIL BUTLER, age 91 of Ten Mile, Tenn. went home to be with the Lord peacefully at his residence on Sunday, November 15, 2020. . He was a native and lifelong resident of Ten Mile, a son of the late Sam Henry and Grace Reed Butler, and preceded in death by Three Brothers: Sister, and very special nephew: Jerry Rice. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, a church he loved so much. He was a member of Carpenter Local #74 for forty-seven years. His happiest times were spent with family and gardening. He planted two gardens in order to share his vegetables with neighbors and family. He leaves behind a host of caring nieces and nephews along with a wonderful church family and friends. The family would like to give special gratitude to the nurses and staff of Professional Case Management and Dr. Shane Roberts for their devoted care. This care was also made possible by the works and dedication of Cold War Patriots.
Survivors: Loving wife of 60 years: Mable Armour Butler, Two daughters and sons-in-law: Alesia (Tally) and Jeff McNelley and Tammie and Fred Melhorn all of Ten Mile, Tenn, Two very precious grandchildren that always brought a big smile to his face, John Tally and Annie Melhorn. Mamaw and Papaw's special girl Allyson Bradshaw Holt, one step-granddaughter: Brittany McNelley Saffles , one step great grandson: Raylan Saffles.
A private graveside service will be held at Butler-Reed Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Walden officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
