Sara Elizabeth "Daisy" Grubb

SARA  ELIZABETH "DAISY"  GRUBB,  age 82 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, in Starr Regional Health and Rehab  in Etowah, Tenn.  She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., a daughter of the late Roy Emerson "Pete" and Angeline Rayburn Rue.  She was a  CNA and LPN, retired from Etowah Health Care and was a former employee of Life Care of Athens. She was a member of Clearwater Baptist Church and attended Riceville United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death:

  • Her husband: French Glen "Bud" Grubb on Feb. 23, 2009,
  • Brother: Fred Rue

Survivors:

  • Two Sons: Steve and Dee Grubb of Niota, Tenn., Johnny Glen and Cindy Grubb of Decatur, Tenn.,
  • Sister: Dorothy Vines of Tampa, Fla.
  • Brother: Roy Emerson Rue, Jr. of Niota, Tenn.
  • Nine Grandchildren,
  • Fourteen Great Grandchildren,
  • Three Great Great Grandchildren,
  • Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Michael Verzanni officiating. 

Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in Clearwater Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Dusty Grubb, Ernest Grubb, Jr., Todd Grubb, Cole Grubb, Chris Sliger, Brad Holder, and Michael Verzanni

The family will receive friends from 5-7 Tuesday in the funeral home.
