Pamela "Pam" Lagonda Yarber

Pamela "Pam" Moses Yarber, age 68 of Athens, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family after a courageous and graceful 10 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at her residence. 

A native of Monroe County and resident of McMinn County most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Hollis E. and Ocie Ellis Moses. 

She was a member of Englewood First Church of God and was employed as the office manager for Dr. Jay Carter for 23 years.  Her favorite thing was being a grammy to her grandchildren, she also loved to travel and was a member of the Athens Federal Senior Travel Club and was an avid amateur photographer.

Survivors: 

  • Husband whom she would have been married to for 45 years in May, Norman Yarber;
  • 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Amy Yarber and Fiance Adam Henry of Athens, Kelly and Kevin Montooth of Athens, and Felecia and Wayne Duncan of Decatur.
  • 3 grandchildren, Landry Montooth, Annsley Montooth and Matthew Henry;
  • Several nieces and nephews;

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 12, 2018 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Clark and Rev. Will Hughes.

Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens. 

Active Pallbearers will be Jake Ward, Luke Ward, Dean Ellis, Kevin Montooth, Adam Henry and Wayne Duncan.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon-2:00 PM Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Englewood First Church of God c/o 1340 Hwy 39 E, Englewood, TN 37329 or the American Cancer Society for Pancreatic Cancer c/o PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123. 

The family would like to say thank you to all of her special friends and caregivers who have been with her through this difficult time.
