ONEIDA HENDERSON HARRIS, age 93, Transitioned from this earth on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Lifecare Center of Athens.
A lifelong Resident of McMinn County, She was a longstanding member of Pond Hill Baptist Church, where she attended regularly until health problems.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Ruel and Maggie Henderson, and by her loving and devoted Husband, the late Daulford Harris. She was also preceded in death by her sister , Mary Gay Underwood, her twin sister Juanita Henderson Price and her Husband Bruce Price, Sister Glaydys Henderson Harris and her husband T.J. Harris, Sister Lou Henderson Millsaps and her husband Sam Millsaps, Sisters-in-law Reba Henderson and Fannie Henderson, and nieces EvaJean Hicks and Jeanette Rowlands.
Survivors include her brothers Ruel Henderson Jr., John Henderson and Sister Martha Leonard and her husband Charles Leonard. Additional survivors include nephews, Eddie Leonard, David Millsaps, Ross and Judy Millsaps, Alvin and Debbie Millsaps, Jerry and Helen Millsaps, along with nieces Charlotte and Joe Haun, Virginia and Tommy Tallent, Melissa and Raymond Vogvs.
Services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with her longtime Pastor Rev. Randy Maddox officiating.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Leonard, Tommy Tallent, Joe Haun, Alvin Millsaps, Bronnie Elsea and Jerry Millsaps. Honorary Pallbears were David Millsaps and Ross Millsaps.
The family would like to express an immense amount of gratitude to the nursing staff of Lifecare Center of Athens. The Expression of love toward Oneida during her lengthy stay was uplifting to her surviving family.
