Nancy Belle Green

NANCY BELLE GREEN, age 79, of Athens TN., passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Sweetwater Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn county, she is the daughter of the late Rev. Robert H. and Pauleda Price Butler.

She is preceded in death by daughter, Tammy Branam; Son, TJ Bryan Jr.; 2 brothers, Chuck Butler and Denny Butler.

Nancy worked for Cresent Hoisery Mill for several years. She attended Pope Ave. Baptist Church. She loved to go out on the pontoon boat and fish, but most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her family stated she was the glue that kept the family together.

Survivors:

Daughter, Lisa Hicks; 2 Sisters and Spouse, Kimberley (Vic) King and Ann Buckner; 1 Brother and spouse, Ricky (Carla) Butler; Special Friend, Dennis Bowlin; Grandchildren, Chelsey Hicks, Trevis Hicks, and Joe Bowlin; 5 Great-grandchildren.

Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 2, 2026 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Vic King officiating.

Interment will follow at Clearwater Cemetery.

The visitation will be from 12-2pm prior to the service.

Active Pallbearers will be Jamie Johnson, Trevis Hicks, Tracy Hennessee, Jay Lancaster, Dennis Bowlin, and Joe Bowlin.
