Millard Vincent

Millard Hartsell Vincent, age 94 of Athens passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Dominon Assisting Living in Athens, Tenn. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn.,. and the son of the late William Ralph and Clara Harmon Vincent. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mildred Ruth Rollins Vincent, Son: James Hartsell Vincent, and  Brother: Curtis Vincent.  He was former owner Vincent Machine Shop. He was an active lifelong  member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church where he was Chairman of many committes and also taught Sunday School  and 50 year member of the Meridan Sun Lodge #50 and 50 year member of Order of the Eastern Star.  He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army-Air Force.
Survivors: Son and Daughter-in-law: David E. and Connie Vincent of Athens, Tenn. Daughter and Son-in-law: Clara J. (C. J.) and Les Coomer of Athens, Tenn. Two Sisters: Mattie Sue Hutsell of Athens, Tenn. Charlotte and Charles Newman of Athens, Tenn.,  Six Grandchildren:  Laurie Conner, Ben Vincent, Jennifer Strain, Dagan Beckett, Darren Beckett, and Sarah Beckett,  Eight
Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. 
Funeral services 6:00 P.M. Monday at  Allen Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Charla Sherbakoff officiating. Interment will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday in U. S. National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tenn. The family will receive friends from 4-6 Monday at the church. Active pallbearers will be Grandchildren and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Allen Memorial United Methodist Church, 800 Decatur Pike, Athens, Tenn. 37303.. Condolences may be sent of www.laycock-hobbs.com/notices/Millard-Vincent. Mr. Millard (as we always called him) will be greatly missed. He has a new body that is perfect and he is praising God with Miss Mildred. May God give you all comfort and peace at this difficult time.
