MILDRED HEATH ROGERS – age 99, formerly of Englewood, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019, at her residence in Athens. A lifelong resident of McMinn County, Mildred was the daughter of the late Eber Pierce and Dorothy Turner Heath. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jess Wilson Rogers; brothers, Walter Heath and E.P. Heath, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Reba and Howard Pierce; and infant sister, Madge Marie Heath. She was a beautician, and she and her husband were realtors and co-owners of McMinn County Real Estate. Mildred was also a member of First Baptist Church in Athens. She is survived by son, James E. Rogers, and daughter-in-law, Jane A. Rogers, of Knoxville; grandsons, Scott Rogers and Chris (Shelley) Rogers; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; best friend and caregiver, Debbie Morse. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Monday with funeral service at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home, Rev. Richard Tallent and David Dockins officiating.
