Mildred Iona Yates Dunn

MILDRED IONA YATES DUNN,  age 96 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, in NHC of Athens. She was a native and former resident of Polk County, resident of McMinn County since the mid 1940's , the daughter of the late William Dennis and Florida Lourenia Moore Yates and preceded in death by her husband: Leroy Dunn, Son:  Hugh  Edwin Dunn and was the last of 11 Brothers and Sisters. She retired from Athens Mfg. and was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. She was an avid quilter and had made and given them  to many family members and friends.
Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law: Sara (Morry)  Clifton of Greenfield, Ind. Two Sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis  (Patsy) Dunn of Athens, Tenn., and Rickey (Loretta) Dunn Luka, Miss. 6 Grandchildren 15 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren, several  nieces and nephews. The family will recieve friends from 4-7 Thursday in the funeral home with the Funeral Service to follow at  7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Jenkins and Rev. Van Elkins officiating. Interment will be 10:00 A.M. Friday in McMinn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be  Chad Hughes, Caleb Hughes, Wesley Jenkins, Anthony Duprey, Kaden Duprey, and  Ethan Duprey. The family will recieve friends from 4-7 Thursday in the funeral home.
