Michael "Mike" Elexander Womack

Michael "Mike" E. Womack, age 59 of Athens passed away Monday, June 23, 2025 at his residence.

A native of Los Angeles, CA and long time resident of Athens he was a son of the late Jimmy Dale Womack and was preceded in death by a son Tyler Womack.

Mike enjoyed Wood working, fishing, being on his sailboat and riding his motorcycle. He was a very free spirit, had a big heart and loved his family. He was known to his family as the "Gentle Giant."

Survivors:

Wife of almost 12 years, Carol Ann Hardy Womack;

Mother, Martha Rae McGahhey Womack of Athens;

1 brother, Randall "Randy" Womack of Athens;

1 adopted daughter, Dixie Louise Womack of Athens;

Step children and spouse, Henry Matthew Hardy of Athens, Bridget Michelle and Craig Henry of Ten Mile; and Samantha Lee Knox of Cleveland;

Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Rocky Mt. Baptist Church with Rev. Sharon Elaine Foskey and Rev. Van Elkins officiating. Interment will follow in Niota Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Craig Henry,  Brian Newby, Rick Hafley, Danny Hafley, John Buckner and Chase Alloway. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday, June 27, 2025 at Rocky Mt. Baptist Church.
