Melanie Antoinette Bradley 54,of the Lanetown Community, Niota, Tennessee,
passed away Saturday October 28th, at The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was full of life, and loved her boys, her sports, her jewelry, fossil watches, tennis shoes and her family. She was a LeBron James hater #1.
She was the last surviving member of the first transplant recipients, having had her kidney for 28 years, December would have been 29 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother Doris Ann Scruggs, her grandparents Howard Paul, Mary Jane Moore Scruggs, all of Niota. Aunts Deloris Scruggs White, Imogene Scruggs Looney, Hattie (Bobby) Arnwine, Eva (Lee) Winton, Jessie Mae (Robert) Suber, Elizabeth (Elroy) Harris, Rev. James (Alma) Moore, Eugene (Ora) Scruggs, Rev. Caggie (Lexie) Scruggs, Robert Wynn, Joseph Scruggs, Ross(Sally)
Scruggs, James Scruggs, Elbert Scruggs, Dewey Scruggs, John Henry Moore, Charles (Lilly) Moore, Mammie Sue Sneed, Darlene (Allen) Harris, Ben (Ann) Moore, Patricia Bradley, Lewis McCowan, Jerry Bradley, Grace(Curtis) Smith, Annabelle (Bob) Moore, Wade Moore.

Survivors, include her special her boys Robert and Tahiem Scruggs of Athens, Tennessee, her Sister Ramona Bradley of Niota, brother Chad Scruggs, also of Niota, brother Tracy (Janel) Bradley of Charleston. Niece and Nephew Ashton (Erica) Bradley of Niota, nephew, Avery (Amy) Looney of Farragut, Tennessee. Great nieces and nephews, Ava, Alexander, and Abraham Looney of Farragut. Our second mother, Lorine Robinson of Niota, Tennessee. Special Aunts, Virginia Wynn of Knoxville Tennessee, Helen (Johnny)Bailey, of Athens, Tennessee, Grace Mae Browder, of Dalton, Georgia, Louise Moore of Niota, Tennessee. Olethia Bradley, Gene(Wilma) Bradley, Uncle, Paula and Willie White, MurrielI (Myra) Bradley, also of Dalton, Georgia.

Special people in her life, Deborah Scruggs, Dalphilia Scruggs, Quitta Evans, Vashti Evans, Crystal Sloop, Paula (Aaron) Elmore, all of Athens, Tennessee, Guy (Tiffany) Looney of Springboro, Ohio, Charles(Edith) Bradley, Tyler (Gidget)Bradley, and Shonna (Jeff) Wilkins, all of Sweetwater Tennessee. Plus a host of friends, and other relatives.

The family will receive frinds from 1-2 pm on Friday, November 3, 2023 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel with          officiating.  Graveside services will immediately follow at Lanetown Cemetery.
