Martha Ellen Burke

Martha Ellen Burke, age 90 of Athens, passed away Tuesday, June 9. 2020 at Life Care Center of Athens. A native and lifelong resident of  Athens, she was the daughter of the late Dillard and Nola Fain Plemons. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and growing flowers. She was an avid animal lover. She was a member at Manilla Chapel Baptist Church of which her father was a cofounder. She was preceded in death by two brothers Lewis Plemons and Harlan Plemons.

Daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Victor Ricks of Athens
She will have a private burial at McMinn Memory Gardens, and the family will be having a Celebration of Life Service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to McMinn County Regional Humane Society and The Alzheimer's Association.
