Lillie Mae Kennedy Robinson, age 92 of Athens passed away, Monday, June 13, 2022 at her residence.
A native of Hot Springs, NC and resident of McMinn County most of her life she was a daughter of the late Ollie and Cordila Maynard Kennedy and was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William T. "Bill" Robinson; a son, Eddie Robinson; a granddaughter, Kimberly Robinson; a sister, Nellie Kennedy; and 2 brothers, Robert Lee Kennedy and Junior Stanley Kennedy.
A member of Marshall Hill Baptist Church, her passion was serving God. She worked in the Church as a Sunday School Teacher, WMU Leader and also with Vacation Bible School, Lillie was a prayer warrior. When Lillie prayed you could feel God's presence. Lillie was a homemaker and loved to Quilt, crochet, work in the garden, canning and also planting flowers. Lillie sang in a small gospel group with her son Michael.
Survivors:
3 sons and daughters-in-law, David and Alice Robinson, Michael and Jannett Robinson and Robbie Robinson all of Athens;
1 daughter-in-law, Linda Eaton of Athens;
2 grandsons, Chris Robinson of Athens. Matthew Robinson and wife Junia of New Jersey;
Great grandchildren, Lily June Robinson of New Jersey and one due at the end of October.
1 sister, Shirley Hastings of Georgia
Very Special friend, Frances Montgomery;
Loyal companion, Trix;
A host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 15, 2022 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Travis Torbett and Robert Riden officiating. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Clearwater Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be sons and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Marshall Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
