John "J. C." Cecil Patterson

John Cecil "J.C." Patterson age 89 of Athens passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018  at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late John and Annie Malone Patterson. He was of the baptist faith and was retired from Mayfields Dairy after 40 years as a milk man and milk route supervisor. He loved to camp, fish and spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was dearly loved by his family and will be sorely missed. He was  stationed in Texas and Alaska during the Korean War having served in the U.S. Air Force and was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dwight Hamilton; grandson, Gilbert Hamilton and two brothers-in-law C.R. Edgemon and Jesse Brown. Sister -in-law, June Irvin.

Grandchildren and spouses, Cody and Erika Patterson, Casey Patterson, John Hamilton, Eric Bracy, Shannon and Jeff Lewellen, Ben and Rachael Bracy, Logan and Kristen Early, Landon and Megan Early, Luke Early, Lily Patterson, Will Patterson. Great-grandchildren, Carissa, Carson , Grayson and Anna Kate. Special friends Harold and Irene Wilson.
Four brothers and sisters-in-law; Bob and Charlotte Patterson of Farragut, Sherman and Ruth Patterson of Lenoir City, H.L. and Wanda Patterson of Athens, Ray and Trula Patterson of Athens. Two sisters and brother-in-law; Evelyn Brown of Athens, Joyce and George Starr of Cleveland. Several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 8:00pm Saturday, October 12, 2018 with the Rev. Don Patterson officiating. The interment will be 11:00am Sunday at McMinn Memory Gardens pallbearers will be the grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm before the service.  The family would like to say a  special thank you to the kind nurses and aides at Avalon Hospice of Sweetwater as well as Dr. Jenny Byrd.
