Jimmy Donald Weir

JIMMY DONALD WEIR, age 82 of Athens, Tenn. went home to be with The Lord Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at NHC of Athens. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, a son of the late Loyd Thomas and Anna Bell Howard Weir and preceded in death by Son: Clinton Donald Weir, Sister Linda Gail Weir, Brothers: Clyde Weir and Billy Ray Weir, Jr. He was a farmer and Tractor Mechanic and was a member of Mt. Verd Baptist Church. He enjoyed to deer and turkey hunting.

Survivors: Wife of 50 years: Judy Lynn Lingerfelt Weir of Athens, Tenn., Son and daughter-in-law: Richard (LeAnn) Weir of Athens, Tenn. Brother and sister-in-law: Charlie (JoAnn) Weir of Niota, Tenn., Two Grandchildren: Hayden and Axel Weir , several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Mt. Verd Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Dalton and Robert Riden officiating. Interment will follow in Valley Road Baptist Church Cemetery.   Active Pallbearers will be Hayden Weir, Axel Weir, Wayne Jarvis, Mike Irons, Tommy Miller and Steve Bingham. The family will receive friends from 1-3 Saturday at the Mt. Verd Baptist Church.
