Jill Jack Roderick, age 66 of Athens, passed away, Friday, February 28, 2020 at Starr Regional Medical Center-Athens,
A native and life-long resident of Athens she was a daughter of the late George Houston and Nina Bell Landers Jack and was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Roderick on November 24, 2003; 2 brothers, Charlie Maxwell and Bill Maxwell; 2 sisters, Faye Wallace and twin sister Gail Mason; and a nephew, Greg Mason.
She was a member of Mt. Verd Baptist Church and was formerly employed as a medical assistant for Dr. Johnnie Carter and also worked at Athens Regional Medical Center as a unit secretary and a phlebotomist.
1 daughter, Penny Roderick Davis of Athens;
1 grandson whom was like a son to her and wife, Tyler and Amber Roderick of Athens;
1 brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Sherry McKinney of Sweetwater;
2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Alan Wade of Decatur, Betty and Mancel Roderick of Athens;
2 special great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Gunner Roderick;
Several nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Wednesday, March, 4, 2020 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Dalton and Rev. Gary King officiating with Danny Pilkey singing.
Entombment will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers, Grant Morrison, Luke Tindle, Adam Lein, Barry Burbank, Caleb Wells and Kenny Perkins. Honorary pallbearer and special grandson Tyler Roderick.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the funeral home.
