Jerry Lee Freeman

Jerry Lee Freeman age 48 of  Athens, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 at Starr Region Medical Center of Athens. A native of McMinn County and a resident of Madisonville and Athens all of his life, he was employed by Athens Furniture Company for 13 years and most recently he worked for Storm Copper Components. He was of the Baptist faith, and he loved to trout fish and play softball. He had many friends and loved being with his family. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him.

Preceded in death by:

  • His father, Howard Lee Freeman;
  • Grandparents:  Robert and Deloris RollerSelous and Edith Freeman
  • Four uncles:  Bobby Roller and Steve Roller, Gene Freeman and Sam Freeman

Survivors;

  • Wife of 23 years; Libby Freeman of Athens
  • Mother; Linda Freeman of Wisconsin
  • One son and daughter-in-law; Paul and Tamara Messer of Athens
  • Two daughters and one son-in-law; Brandy and Buddy Davis of Sweetwater, Kascey Lee Freeman of Athens
  • Four brothers and sisters-in-law; David and Kelly Freeman of Wisconsin; Terry and Cathy Freeman of Wisconsin, Jerry and Karen Denton of Madisonville and Todd and Ginger Holt of Athens.
  • Two sisters; Patti Umland Wisconsin and Angel Freeman of Wisconsin
  • Six Grandchildren; Ricky, William, Bradon, Kyia, Katelynn, Jordyn
  • Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday Jan. 6, 2018 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Dodson officiating.

The interment will follow at Millers Chapel Cemetery 619 Turkey Creek Road, Tellico Plains at 4:30pm.

The pallbearers will be Paul Messer, David Freeman,Terry Freeman, Mark Rogers,Todd Holt, Shane Roller, Alex Roller and Jerry Denton.

The family will receive friends from 12-2pm Saturday before the service at the funeral home.
