James Clayton Chism

James Clayton Chism, age 69 of Decatur passed away, Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at his residence.

A native of Lowndes, MS and current resident of Decatur he was a son of the late Woodrow Wilson, Sr., Lucy "L. C." Smith Chism and was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Chism.

He was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church and was Retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service.

Survivors:

Wife of 3 years, Juliana Chism;

2 sons and daughter-in-law, Chad and Angela Chism and Bryce Chism;

1 daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Alan Henry;

Siblings, Woodrow (Pat) Chism, Jr. of Columbus, MS; David (Charlotte) Chism of Appling, GA; Hazel (Ronnie) Key of Cleveland;

7 grandchildren

A host of nieces and nephews

A celebration of life service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 16, 2025 at North Cleveland Baptist Church with Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating.

Inurnment will be at 1:30 PM Friday, August 15, 2025 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
