James “Jim” Kellis Chewning, age 80, of Crossville, TN, passed away at Terra Bella Athens, Memory Care on November 16, 2024.
Jim was born on December 27, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia, son of the late McDonald “Don” Chewning and Genevieve “GeeGee” (Harper) Chewning.
Jim worked for the state of Tennessee for over thirty years. He attended Crossville First United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he loved anything sports car related, DIY, and caring for neighborhood cats.
He is survived by daughter Kelly Coffey (James), son Christopher Chewning (Brittany), grandchildren George and Ellie Chewning, sister Cathy Holman (Roy), nieces Susan Lansley (Todd), Laura Holman, Jamie Holman Lacourse, Katie Rebman (Rob), and numerous grandnieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, wife Nancy Ellen Moore Chewning, and brothers John Chewning and Dean Chewning.
