Hazel Kennedy

Hazel Price Kennedy, age 90 of Athens passed away, Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Starr Regional Medical Center-Athens.
A native a life-long resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Jasper Otis and Mae Richesin Price, and was preceded in death by her husband, George Victor Kennedy on March 20, 1994 and her siblings, Junior Price, Annie White, J.S. "Chick" Price and Naomi Toomey.
She was of the Baptist faith and was formerly employed at Athens Hosiery Mill and Athens Table Company.
Survivors include:

  • Daughter and son in law:  Brenda and Jackie Baker of Athens;
  • 1 beloved granddaughter, Jamie Baker Smock and her husband Jason of Athens;
  • 1 beloved great-granddaughter, Jacey Victoria Smock;
  • Special caregiver, Juliane Baker;
  • Special neices, Teresa Carroll and Summer
  • Several other neices and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Friday, November 1, 2019 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Milsaps and Pastor Michael Smith Officiating. 

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Clearwater Cemetery

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
