Harold Duane King, of Englewood, passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2025. Born on September 25, 1937, Harold was a native and a lifelong resident of McMinn County. He was the son of the late Emmett and Edna Davis King.
A proud Army veteran, Harold served his country with honor before embarking on a long career as a railroad conductor with Louisville & Nashville Railroad (L&N).
In addition to his work on the rails, Harold was a devoted farmer, finding joy and purpose in working the land. His faith guided him in life, and he attended Valley View Baptist Church.
Harold lived a life marked by service and dedication.
Harold was preceded in death by his siblings Ralph King, Roy King, and Wanda Barnett.
He is survived by his brother, Larry King; and his children, Rex (Diane) King, Kim (Paul) Rayl, Dan (Karri) King, and Kay Faulkenberry. He was a grandfather to Reagan (King) Arnold, Kayla (King) Ledford, Jesse Rayl, Kevin King, Corbin King, Rachel Faulkenberry, Nolan Faulkenberry, Nathan Rayl, and Davis King and great-grandson, Sawyer Rayl.
The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 pm Sunday, June 29, 2025 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. The graveside service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Sunrise Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Mike Jones officiating.
