Hans Albert Russell

Hans Albert Russell, age 78 of Athens, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 7, 2026. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Amos and Geneva Williams Russell. He was a member of Miracle Deliverance Tabernacle, a Denver Broncos fan and enjoyed watching westerns. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Shawna Renee Russell; one brother, Earl Russell; and five sisters, Frances Nunley, Pauline Hendricks, Elizabeth Hester, Julie Ann Massagee, Glenda Russell.

He was survived by two daughters; Teesha McLemore (Scott) of Tellico Plains; Kendra Gabrel of Athens; four grandchildren, Aubree, Mason, Elijah and Noah; one sister, Tammie Simpson; one brother, David Russell; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service at on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Westview Cemetery in Sweetwater with the Pastor Anthony Wynn officiating.
