George R. Howard

GEORGE R. HOWARD, age 80 of Sweetwater, Tenn. passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023 at his residence. He was a native of  Ark. , resident of Monroe County since 1969 , son of the late George and Inez Maples Howard and preceded in death by Brothers:  Frank J. Howard , Ed Howard, Charlie Howard, Sister:  Violet Moore. He was a former employee of Athens Furniture, NGK Metals and was a carpenter.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy.
Survivors: Son and daughter-in-law: Tim and Lisa Howard of Athens, Tenn., Former wife and special friend:  Evelyn Howard Grandchildren: Cayci (Tyler) Kilgore, Caleb (Courtney) Howard, Megan Buckner Great Granddaughter: Finley Howard,  several nieces, nephews and   Partner and Care Taker: Margaret Galbreath
Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Griffis officiating. Entombment will be 11:00 A.M. Friday in McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Thursday in the funeral home.
