Geneva Mae Walker

Geneva Mae Brown Walker, age 89 of Athens passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024 at NHC Healthcare of Athens.

She was a native and life-long resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late William Girdine and Cora Lee Roderick Brown and was preceded in death by her husband Elmer David Walker.

She was a member of East Athens Baptist Church and was a former employee of Epperson Hospital and Athens Community Hospital where she worked in the business office.

Survivors:

1 son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sue Walker of Riceville;

3 grandchildren, Lauren Walker and Fiancé Andrew Smith, Zac Walker and Austin Walker and Fiancé Brianna Baxter;

1 Sister, Virginia Colbaugh of Dalton, GA;

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, December 15, 2024 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Dr. Brian Trapp officiating. Interment will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends form 12:00 Noon-1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
