FRANK HARDEN BARNES, age 83 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, in Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was a native and resident most of life of McMinn County, the son of the late James "Jay" and Willie Nell Clark Barnes and was preceded in death by Brother: James "Butch" Barnes. He was a retired construction supervisor for Mayse Contruction Co. He love to Farm and had a passion for restoring old Cars. He attended Sewee Church of God.
Wife of 62 years: Sandra Queen Barnes of Athens, Tn. Two Sons: Rusty (Della) Barnes of Niota, Tn. Charlie (June) Barnes of Athens, Tenn.Two Sisters: Dean Watts of West Point, Ga. and Diane Harris of Monroe, La. Two Grandchildren: Parker Barnes and Cali Rayburn, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Tuesday in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Pastor Linda Parton officiating. Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in Sewee Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Matt Curtis, Kevin Goins, Brian Elrod, Cliff Burnette, Mark Teague, and Chris Alfredo. The family will receive friends from 4-7 Tuesday in the funeral home.
