Floyd "Birdie" Lindsey Yarbrough

FLOYD LYNN "BIRDIE" YARBROUGH,  age 71 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019, in Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn. and  a son of the late John Sherrod and Vivian Rose Webb Yarbrough. He was an Iron Worker and had worked for several companies traveling to many locations. He was a member of Eastanelle Baptist Church. He was a member of the VFW and was a "Sea Bee" serving in the U. S. Navy in Vietnam.

Survivors include:

• Wife of 20 years: Sheila Drake Yarbrough of Athens, Tenn., 
• Son and Daughter-in-law: Bruce and Renee Yarbrough of Cleveland, Tenn.,
• Daughter and Son-in-law: Shelly and Tim Morgan of Etowah, Tenn.
• Son: Todd Appleton of Athens, Tenn.,
• Brother and Sister-in-law: John and Nikki Yarbrough of Athens, Tenn., 
• Sister: Phyllis Rogers of Athens, Tenn.
• His best friend, his dog  "Raleigh" 
• 6 Grandchildren 
• 2 Great Grandchildren,
• Several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 26, 2019 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Coleman officiating.

Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in Etowah City Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Gary Thryhal, Braeden Morgan, Dexter Yarbrough, Greysun Appleton, Tim Morgan, and Scott Yarbrough.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 Tuesday in the funeral home.
