Ella Mae Dilbeck

ELLA KNOX DILBECK, age 102 of Niota, Tenn. passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018, in NHC of Athens, Tenn.  She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., daughter of the late John and Sallie Starr Knox. She retired after 50 years of service from Cresent Hosiery Mill and was a member of First Baptist Church of Niota, Tenn. She and her husband: Lane were avid campers.

Preceded in death:

  • Husband: Lane Lyde Dilbeck on April  26, 1995, 
  • Sons: Thomas Daniel (Danny) Dilbeck, Robert Gary Dilbeck, Delane Dilbeck
  • Three Brothers: William L. "Bill" Knox, John I. Knox, and Charles "Chock" Knox,
  • Five Sisters: Dorcas "Dorty" Stout, Oneida Elliott, Ruth Dake, Amanda Burkett, and Virginia Richenson

Survivors:

  • Three Sons and Daughters-in-law: Triendell and Catherine Dilbeck of Cleveland, Tenn, Billy and Linda Dilbeck of Athens, Tenn., David and Billie Ruth Dilbeck of Niota, Tenn.,
  • Two Sisters: Imogene Lane of Burns, Tenn., Bobbie Billings of Athens, Tenn.,
  • Eight Grandchildren,
  • Eleven Great Grandchildren,
  • Ten Great Great Grandchildren,
  • Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Plaster officiating.

Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in Niota Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Matthew Arden, John Case, Dalton Case, James David Dilbeck, Eddie Willis, Randy Dilbeck, and Cade Baker. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Carver, Marty Stephens, Will Owens, and  Mike Dilbeck.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 Tuesday in the funeral home.
