Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Gabbard

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Gabbard born December 16, 1940 passed away on Friday August 17, 2018 at Erlanger Medical Center after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Scott Gabbard and her parents Frank and Catherine DeFrank Barberio of Cleveland, Ohio.

Betty worked at AT&T in Colorado, New Jersey and finally Nashville, Tennessee where she retired in 1998. She and her husband Scott retired in Athens, TN where they spent 15 wonderful years together being a part of the tight-knit Athens community, serving God at St. Mary Church and traveling extensively around the world.

Betty was known for a strong connection to her Catholic faith, her generous nature and her sense of fashion and style. She would often be seen with her wonderful friend, Karen Morgan, on marathon shopping trips and buzzing through town in her sports car. After Scott's death, she returned to work at Met Com Credit Union where she enjoyed working with her colleagues and serving the community. Betty will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Especially her daughter who regarded her as " the perfect Mum."
