EDITH R. EATON PADGETT, age 92 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018, in Starr Regional Medical of Athens, Tenn. She was born in Bradley and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., a daughter of the late P S and Oma White Eaton.  She retired from Athens Products and was a member of McMinn County Senior Citizens and was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church. She loved to bowl, and was a Braves Baseball fan.

Preceded in death by

  • Her husband: Joe Addison Padgett on June 15, 1990,
  • Three  Brothers: Clarence Eaton, Roy Eaton, Willie Eaton,
  • Two Sisters: Lois Eaton, and Mae Stevens.

Survivors:

  • Two Daughters and Son-in-law: Judy Lyles of Athens, Tenn.,  Jeannie and Bill Martin of Madisonville, Tenn.,
  • Four Grandchildren and spouses: Keith Davis and Angie Allen, Kay and Chris Bailey, Lori Martin, and Leslie Martin,
  • Six Great Grandchildren: Walker Davis, Lydia Davis, Kaylie Guyer, Kayla Bailey, Kierra Kyle, and Jake Allen
  • Brother: Floyd Eaton of Decatur, Tenn.,
  • Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 15, 2018 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Vest officiating.

Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in McMinn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 Monday in the funeral home.
