Edith "Edi" Jeanette Emmons

Edith "Edi" Jeanette Landry Emmons, age 84 of Riceville passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at her daughter's residence.

A native of Durhamville, NY and current resident of Riceville she was a daughter of the late Evanhoe Gerald and Dorothy Alberta Terrior Landry and was preceded in death by her sisters, Geraldine Eaton, Bonnie Emmons, Edgar Landry, Gloria Zimmerman and a brother Donald Landry.

She attended St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a former employee of Stanton Paper Box Company in Oneida, NY having retired after 41 years of service. She cherished her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She loved baking her famous "Apple Pie" for those fortunate enough to get to try it. She had an infectious laugh and sense of humor that entertained everyone around her.

Survivors:

Husband of 65 years, George Emmons;

1 daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Bill Gates;

1 son and daughter-in-law, David and Laura Emmons;

4 granddaughters and spouses, Shannon and Andrew Ford, Brittany and Jesse Bookout and Tiesha Emmons and Fiance Tony Reece, Jr., Amanda Emmons and Fiance Syd Bascle;

Great-grandchildren, Sara, Thomas, Leiland, Owen, Aurora and Rowan;

1 Sister Kathy Landry;

1 brother and 2 sisters-in-law Dennis and April Landry; Pat Landry;

Loved Aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 1, 2026 St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Christopher Manning officiating. Interment will follow at McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM prior to the service at the church. There will be a reception at St. Mary Catholic immediately following the interment.
