Doris "D. L." Brown

Doris "D. L."Brown, age 84 of Athens passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024 at his residence. A native and resident of  MxMinn County most of his life he was a son of the late  George A.   and  Kate Walsh Brown was preceded in death by Sister Nola Jane Lane    .
He was a member of Eastanallee Baptist Church and was retired from HT Hackney after 31 years of service. He was very active on the Board of Tri County Center for many years, member of Nocatula Civitan Club and  was a member of the Lions Club while living in Waynesville, N. C. . His life was dedicated to his Lord having served in many roles in the church. 
Survivors:
Wife of  64  years, Brenda Joyce Carrolll  Brown of Athens, Tenn.  
2 daughters and son-in-law, Karen and  Rev.Tony Crisp  of Kingsport, Tenn.  and Lisa Rene Brown of  Athens, Tenn. Three Grandchildren: Joshua and Lauren Crisp, Charity and Rev. Jeremy Roberts, and Jonathan Crisp, Five Great Grandchildren: Joel Crisp, Autumn Roberts, Judah Crisp, Lyla Crisp, Lily Roberts, Brother: George A. (Carolyn)  Brown, Jr    of Riceville, Tenn, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral servces will be 2:00 P.M. Monday in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Crisp and Rev. Rodney Bice officiating. Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday in McMinn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Joshua Crisp,  Jonathan Crisp, Joel Crisp,  Larry Lane, Kevin Lane and Lewis Teague.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dale McKenzie, Dan Wilson, Ron Mayeux, Dewayne Spurlin, Bobby Fulcher, and  Ron Gann. In Lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Tri County Center, Athens, Tenn.
