Donna Ruth Humphreys

DONNA RUTH STRICKLAND HUMPHREYS,  age 89 of Niota passed away peacefully at her  home, Tuesday, October 25, 2022. She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, a daughter of the late William McKinnely (Mack) and Cora Alice Wright Strickland and preceded in death by her husband of 69 years: Marion J. Humphreys, Brothers: Robert  and Lorance Strickland and Sisters: Louise Galyon and Edith Liles. She sttended Sewee Church of God and was an avid gardener and a loving grandmother. She loved the outdoors and animals often rescuing strays. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. 
Survivors: Two Daughters and sons-in-law: Linda H. and Mike Nichols of Niota, Tenn. , Gail Humphreys of Niota, Tenn., Son and Daughter-in-law: Ron and Debbie Humphreys of Athens, Tenn., Grandchildren: Casey Humphreys, Adriana Mondone, Dustin Humphreys, Cristina Jaimes and Laura Hughes, 10 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank Dorothy Green, caregiver, Della Letner, neighbor, Stephanie and Brenda , and Cathy from Hospice of Chattanooga for their care. 
Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday, October 30, 2022 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Pastor Linda Parton officiating.  Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 31, 2022 at Kyker Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 Sunday at the funeral home.
