Donald Henry McKeehan

DONALD HENRY "DON" McKEEHAN,  age 72 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in NHC of Athens, Tenn. He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, Tenn., a son of the late John Henry and Inez Davis McKeehan.  He was a member of Eastanallee Baptist Church. He started his career in the grocery business as a teen at E. R. Kinser's grocery store, was supervisor for his brother's Alfred's IGA, and later, opened his own, Don's Food Center, for over 20 years. He was a 32-degree Mason belonging to Meridian Sun Lodge #50, Scottish, and Alhambra Shrine.

He was preceded in death by:

• His wife: June Lynnell Hester McKeehan,
• Three Brothers: Alfred McKeehan, John Ray  McKeehan, Jimmy McKeehan,
• Sister: Virginia "Toots" McKeehan
• Father-in-law: Ralph Hester.

Survivors include:

• Daughter and Son-in-law: Donna and Kent Bridges of Athens, Tenn.,
• Two Sons: Ricky McKeehan and Chad McKeehan both of Athens, Tenn.
• Five Grandchildren: Jordon (Robert) Nelson, Taylor Bridges, Cole McKeehan, Cade McKeehan, and Corbin McKeehan,
• Mother-in-law: Levena Hester
• Brother and Sister-in-law: Karl and Shirley McKeehan of Athens, Tenn.,
• Sisters-in-law: Dean McKeehan, Martha McKeehan, Miriam McKeehan,
• Brother-in-law and Wife: Eddie and Susie Hester, and Jimmy and Pat Hester,
• Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 22, 2019 in the Chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Dr. Carlos Peterson officiating. A Masonic service will be held at the beginning of the service Friday evening. 

Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 23, 2019 in McMinn Memory Gardens. 

Active pallbearers will be Robert Nelson, Dewayne Gann, Joe Swafford, Scott McKeehan, Shawn McKeehan, and Eddie Hester.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 at the funeral home.
