Dewey Brantley

Dewey Brantley, age 87 of Cleveland  passed away March 18, 2022 in a Cleveland Nursing Facility.
A native of Union County and current resident of Cleveland he was a son of the late George Hasten and Ovie Belle Miller Brantley and was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Belt Brantley; a brother, Troy Brantley and a sister, Unis Brantley Hughes.
He was born on June 20, 1934 in Union County.  He grew up in Athens most but spent his working years in Chicago, Illinois and Detroit, MI and later in Houston, TX before retiring and moving back to Athens.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors
2 brothers Onis Brantley of Athens and Emerson Brantley of Charleston.
1 daughter, Melinda Ketcher of Detroit, MI
Several nieces and nephews
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Van Elkins officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
