Della Rae Solsbee

Della Rae Barnette Solsbee of Athens and formerly of Niota, age 97 entered her heavenly home on August 1, 2019.  She leaves behind to cherish her memories two daughters and on son-in-law, Evelyn Robinson and Wanda (Ronnie) Lingerfelt all of Athens.  Four grandchildren, Jennifer Raper, Kim Dorman, Angelia Clark and Amy Greene.  Two step-grandchildren, Wendy Gentry McJunkins and Chad Lingerfelt.  Six great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.  One sister-in-law, Inez Barnette.
She is preceded in death by her husband Alfred Frank Solsbee, her mother and father Virgil and Kitty Barnette, Four siblings, Suvlla "Bid" Barnette, James "Bud" Barnette, Hobert Barnette and Mary Faye Trentham.
Della Rae loved and devoted herself to her family.  She was an avid sewer and loved to embroider pillowcases.  She loved her Lord and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Union McMinn Baptist Church in Niota with Rev. Doug Alexander and Patrick Wooden officiating.  Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Foster Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Jacob Greene, Edward Barnette, J. L. Barnette, Dwight Walden, Chad Lingerfelt, Dwayne Rogers.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Rick Campbell, Brandon Williams and Herb Carithers.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Saturday prior to the service at the church.  The family would like to thank all those that have had a part in the care of Della and many thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga, Mary Ellen Lovingood, Donna Evans and Herb Carithers.
