David Kyle McElhaney

DAVID KYLE McELHANEY, age 85 of Englewood passed away Thursday, February 28, 2018.  A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Roy and Della Mashburn McElhaney. He was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church and a retired veteran of the US Air Force having served in Korea and Vietnam.  He loved spending time with his sons and grandsons and enjoyed gardening and caring for his mother. He was an expert mechanic and enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on the farm. He was member of Air Force Seargent Associations.

Preceded in death by:

  • Two brothers:  Edward McElhaney and Paul McElhaney 
  • One sister:  Mary Wilcox.

Survivors;

  • Wife of 63 years, Anita Ruth Slack McElhaney of Englewood
  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Patrick McElhaney and Anna Bowman of Roane Co.; Jim and Tanya McElhaney of Madisonville
  • Two Grandchildren and spouse:  Tyler and Viola McElhaney, Trevor McElhaney and his fiance' Liz Duncan
  • Special friends Mr. Shorty and Cathy.
  •  Several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A Military Graveside service will be 11:00am Saturday March 3, 2018 at Sunrise Cemetery in Englewood., with Military Honors by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
